Overview (Scope of Role)

The EH&S Technician will be a key contributor to Loss Control Programs, including Environmental, Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Title V, Security, TIMS and Hazardous/Solid Waste Management. The EHS Technician reports directly to the Responsible Care Leader for Trinseo in support of the Company's chemical manufacturing operations facilities.

Responsibilities
    Participate in and provide data for EH&S audits (internal and external)
  • Coordinate and assist implementation for EH&S programs within specific facility
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action process
  • Initiate and support Management of Change (MOC) for EH&S matters as necessary
  • Serve as facility MOC reviewer for EH&S topics
  • Complete EHS assessments/general program compliance reviews
  • Complete monthly compliance tasks
  • Updates and maintains appropriate company environmental, safety and health program documents.
  • Member of EHS Teams for area of coverage
  • Be an EH&S influential leader with Trinseo EH&S programs
  • Participate and help drive Trinseo's Safety on Purpose program
  • On-board new employees utilizing the Trinseo New Employee Orientation Process
  • Provide one-on-one or group trainings of various EH&S topics, e.g. arc flash, fall protection, respirator, SCBA, etc.
  • Maintain EH&S signage across facility
  • Develop an EH&S Tailgate plan and provide materials to be viewed by all employees
  • Participate in the industrial hygiene program for the facility
  • Manage PPE Program for your facility or facilities
  • Review and update the SDS system annually for your facility
  • Know and participate in immediate response drills with facility and Site emergency response teams
  • Inspect fall protection equipment
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associates Degree in EHS or related field preferred but not required
  • Professional certifications preferred (CSP, CHMM, CIH, CPEA) but not required
  • 3+ years of EH&S experience with a focus on Health and Safety
  • Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Identifies and interprets applicable environmental regulations
  • Performs inspections and tests to verify compliance
  • Emergency response experience is preferred.
  • Experience with external regulatory requirements both at the federal and state level
