To design new and improve existing Complex Rehab Power Wheelchair products in accordance with established procedures and protocols, mentor less experienced engineers, and drive continuous improvement within Quantum Research & Development (R&D)

*Design and analyze mechanical systems and assemblies including but not limited to high load structural systems, suspension systems, vehicle chassis, and powered or manual positioning systems

*Develop, release, and revise mechanical drawings and 3D models

*Ensure designs' safety, effectiveness, manufacturability, reliability, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met

*Perform component inspections as well as system verification and validation testing

*Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets

*Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers

*Coach and teach advanced skills and techniques to less experienced team members within the department

*Assist in the continuous improvement of design procedures and protocols to help drive design efficiency

*Assist management in championing change within Pride

*Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches

*Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents, or injuries are promptly reported to management

*Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training

*Focus on continuous improvement and consistently demonstrate good business judgment

*Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations

*Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

Must have:

*Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

*Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

*Intermediate understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

*Basic working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems

*Intermediate working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred

*Intermediate understanding of Permanent Magnet DC motor theory and design preferred

*Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred

*Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs. preferred

*At least 6 years of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies

*At least 3,000 hours or 3 years of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings

*At least 1 year of experience in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

*At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the assembly of fabricated mechanical components and systems preferred

*At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an environment supporting design, manufacturing, technical service, and technical processes preferred

*At least 3 years of hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication of mechanical assemblies preferred

*At least 5,000 hours or 5 years of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings preferred

*At least 1 year of experience with the specific products preferred

*Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

*Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

*Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred
