About the role
Business development, project origination, and commercial development management of new sustainable energy generation projects across the Balfour Beatty Investments business units to include military housing, multifamily residential and public-private partnerships (P3). Requires the knowledge of US Government mandates along with the commercial and technical aspects of development, contracting, and execution. Includes understanding and previous experience in battery energy storage system project finance and development, as well as EV charging projects, microgrids and other types of energy performance contracts. Position requires proven ability to develop and close a pipeline of distributed generation, commercial, community solar, and energy projects. Requires understanding of funding models available to include legislation involving the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA),Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), and Available Grants. Position works cooperatively with BBC project development executives and executive leadership.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, secure funding, and gain necessary consensus and approvals for Portfolio Wide Sustainable Energy projects.
  • Lead project efforts related to sustainable development that focus on asset resilience, improvement, resident satisfaction, and project financial health to include long term Company profitability.
  • Live and uphold the Company's Values and policies on Ethics and Compliance. Foster that environment within the various BBC Teams
  • Represent the Company at various Industry forums like the Association of Defense Communities (ADC), DoD Sessions, Project Owner meetings, Project Briefings, Media Engagements, CODEL/PAO Visits, Military Leader Visits, and VIP Visits

Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
  • Security clearance may be required for certain military housing facilities
  • Minimum of 15 years of Sustainable Energy development experience
  • Renewable Development Experiences
  • Solid Written and Communication Skills
  • Strong time management, leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Possession of a valid state issues driver's license and safe driving record are required

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, equipment, supplies, and office equipment. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 75 lbs.
