Join us as a DLP Manager in our Data Protection group!

The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Manager oversees all operations of the DLP Program and DLP Analyst resources, including Systems Business Analysts, in the Systems Data Protection Team. The DLP Program is responsible for the daily review, analysis and escalation of DLP alerts/incidents within the DLP toolset. The DLP Manager provides oversight and guidance to these operations and acts as an escalation point in the alert management process. The DLP Manager is also responsible for execution on DLP Program initiatives with focus on evaluating and defining requirements for new and enhanced Data Loss Prevention controls. The DLP Manager applies project management to DLP and Data Protection projects, including project planning and execution of project tasks, mitigation of project risks, resolution of issues and management of resources to successfully meet project goals and deliverables. The DLP Manager will be the primary point of contact for members of Enterprise Risk, Compliance Privacy Office and Business end users and Systems Engineering teams to define control requirements, test new controls and coordination of implementation activities. The DLP Manager has people management responsibilities with direct reports in multiple locations in a global environment.

Responsibilities include:

Operations Management

  • Subject Matter Expert on tools and processes for daily operations

  • Ensures procedures and processes are fully documented and routinely maintained

  • Oversee daily operational and reporting tasks ensuring completeness, accuracy and adherence to established SLAs

  • Defines and maintains Program metrics and supporting commentary

  • Analyzes data to identify and support data-driven recommendations for new controls or enhancements to existing controls

  • Primary escalation point for the DLP Analyst Team/Systems Business Analyst Team

  • Coordinates issue troubleshooting with Engineering or other systems/business resources

  • Defines roles and responsibilities for DLP Analyst Team/Systems Business Analyst Team

  • Acts as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals and vendors/contractors

Program Execution & Delivery

  • Maintains Program Roadmaps, projects, tasks and resource allocations

  • Leverages Agile methodologies to prioritize and organize work for the Analyst Team

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for input in program strategy and objectives

  • Primary point of contact for Audits, risk and control assessments, ad hoc inquiries, and escalated business issues

  • Prioritizes control enhancements through partnership with stakeholders and end users

  • Chairs Program working group forum

  • Identifies and manages project/program dependencies and overall critical path to ensure the program execution is carried out timely and within budget

  • Facilitates trade off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time to prioritize demand.

  • Ensures best practices and procedures are being followed, including testing and change management procedures

Leadership/People Management

  • Manager of small team of direct reports who are systems business analysts/security analysts

  • Motivate both direct reports and cross-functional teams to execute on deliverables within established SLAs or project timelines

  • Facilitates stakeholder engagement with Risk, Compliance, Systems Engineering and Business groups

  • Communicates consistently with stakeholders to understand expectations and provide program/project status updates

  • Reviews project documentation to ensure all work adheres to appropriate department/service line/project standards


Qualifications include:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • BA or equivalent

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Experience as a Program or Project Manager for Information Security Teams (such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or Data Protection) or Information Technology Teams

  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire direct reports and cross-functional teams.

  • Product owner or Systems Business Analyst experience including technical requirement documentation, test planning and execution and post implementation support

  • Experience with DLP Technology including configuration and tuning of rule-based policies and reporting/metrics

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large data sets to make data-driven recommendations for improvement in Data Loss Prevention controls.

  • Knowledge of of data security and data privacy concepts, technologies, industry trends and regulations

  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques; Experience in an Agile delivery model including hands-on JIRA experience

  • Under moderate supervision, interacts with external stakeholders e.g., clients and vendors
