Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Knowledge Management Specialist to work closely with the Knowledge Management (KM) Counsel on all aspects of practice group-focused knowledge management projects, including collecting and organizing valuable know-how/work product, managing practice group-focused KM tools and practice sites, collecting, tracking and reporting on key data about matters, and advancing other practice group-specific KM efforts and projects as needed.

Reporting to a Knowledge Management Counsel team member, the Knowledge Management Specialist will engage in self-directed work in close collaboration with KM Counsel and other members of the larger Knowledge Management & Practice Services (KMPS) team. This position will routinely engage with Practice Group attorneys and business professionals.

This position will reside in our Philadelphia office and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with attorneys to identify high value materials for practice group knowledge banks and collecting, organizing, and maintaining these materials

  • Overseeing practice group-specific processes for collecting key deal points at different stages of matters, which may include developing deal forms, holding calls with attorneys to gather matter data, inputting data into the firm's matter experience system, and tracking/reporting on attorney engagement

  • Providing expertise in searching the firm's matter experience database and generating reports for the practice group KM Partner, KM Steering Committee, and practice group leaders

  • Organizing, prioritizing, and managing the collection, review and updating of additional experience information which may be relevant for our attorneys and practice groups.

  • Supporting practice group intranet pages and KM-focused Teams channels to ensure relevancy of content and alignment with practice group needs

  • Developing regular reports to the KM Partner, KM Steering Committee and practice group leaders on usage and adoption of KM technologies

  • Acting as a resource and escalation point for all KM systems and related processes and working with members of the KMPS team to evaluate new KM technologies and processes

Experience and preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a corporate or large law firm environment

  • Experience with legal knowledge management concepts and technologies is a plus, but not required

  • Self-starter with strong ability to work independently and maintain accuracy and attention to detail across multiple projects and completing deadlines

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
