Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University. Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

The Primary Counselor is responsible for a case load of high risk pregnant and/or parenting women who are engaged in drug treatment that includes programming for drug-free and medication assisted clients. The Primary Counselor will be the primary coordinator of clinical services for his/her caseload and will complete all necessary documentation and other written requirements for the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates within the treatment team and with other health care professionals. Coordinates care which also includes contact with personnel outside the treatment team including social service agencies, health and psychiatric personnel when indicated.
  • Provides psychotherapy services to assigned clients. This includes weekly individual counseling and family or couples therapy when indicated. Facilitates group therapy sessions held weekly and specialized groups. Inputs into program planning and development to ensure that the psychosocial, addiction treatment, educational, and vocational needs of the clients are being addressed programmatically.
  • Completes chart work and other required written work in a timely fashion. This includes treatment plans, progress notes, history gathering, all written work required by the program, and other data gathering as required. All written work and client communications must be done in accordance with program regulations and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iScore values of the Jefferson.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Masterrsquo;s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

Prefer: licensed social worker, licensed professional counselor, certified addictions counselor.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

One year experience in treatment of addiction is preferred.
