We are currently seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electrical Transmission Team from Reading, PA; Colonie, NY; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; Parsippany, NJ, or any other CHA Office location. This role offers a hybrid work schedule with the flexibility to work both in-office and from home.

The Principal Power Systems Engineer is responsible for providing guidance and oversight to multiple teams working on numerous transmission, substation, and generation projects, specifically involving system analysis and controls, and will need the ability to balance priorities and collaborate with different teams. This key role will also manage all phases of technical projects from conception and design to completion, while also providing engineering guidance to other departments when needed. Additional duties may include preparation of specifications, compiling of technical reports and proposal documents, completing field assignments, and other advanced engineering tasks as required. The right candidate for this role will have extensive power systems experience, including protection and controls, knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution, as well as experience leading teams and mentoring junior team members.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; Master's degree is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • A minimum of 15 years progressive engineering experience is required
  • Expert knowledge of power systems, electrical generation, distribution, and transmission with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proven ability to lead a team and effectively communicate and work in a collaborative team environment
