Position Summary:

The Clinical Informatics Specialist acts as a liaison between health system clinical areas and the MIS analysts. Has a demonstrated understanding of applying the use of technology to optimize and enhance clinical workflows for healthcare staff. Assists with identifying, evaluating, planning and revising any existing clinical system in an effort to standardize workflows. Works with staff and physicians to optimize the usage of the system through education and training. Must have strong project management skills and be able to effectively communicate patient care activities, promote meaningful, user-friendly and patient-centric processes while driving improved outcomes for patients. Work with analyst teams for effective process design, development, and implementation of the electronic medical record and clinical decision support. This role supports nurses, physicians, ancillary staff, ambulatory practices and IS specialists as the resource for information system integration. The CI works collaboratively with clinicians, departmental leadership, patient safety, accreditation, and regulatory agencies, to clarify needs, prioritize design workflow and execute change and facilitate adaptation to the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in nursing, or other health care related field. 4-6 Years of clinical experience.
