Position Summary:

This position rotates responsibilities throughout the Main campus and East Hills predominately in the operating room and pretesting areas and occasionally in the GI Lab and ASU family waiting area. Must have a general knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient utilizing a computer. Duties include scheduling pretesting appointments and surgical cases, ensuring accuracy of Operating Room surgical charges and approving for patient billing, registering surgical, interventional radiology and infusion patients for procedures, managing the Operating Room schedule and coordinating the flow of patients to surgery, and coordinating with nurses and physician offices to obtain required clinical paperwork for surgical and pretesting patient charts and verifying surgical procedures are authorized prior to surgery. The position also requires excellent telephone and customer service skills to assist patients and their family members and to support clinical personnel, surgeons, office staff and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or Equivalent. General knowledge of medical terminology with computer related experience in medical field environment. CPR Certification required within one year.
