Job Description

Primary Function:

The Manager, Student Accounts is responsible for the direction and fiscal management of bursar functions of Thomas Jefferson University. The position reports to the Director of Student Accounts on the Center City Campus. The position requires candidate to be flexible to work at both Center City and East Falls Campuses as needed.

Core Functions and Competencies:

  • Assists Director in East Falls Banner accounts receivable module integration.
  • Documents processes and procedures to provide a cohesive, integrated Student Accounts Office.
  • Manages the daily operations of the Student Accounts Office including student billing, collection and receivable management.
  • Manages cashier operation of the University.
  • Ensures compliance with federal regulations related to refunds and cash disbursements.
  • Coordinates 1098T process.
  • Provides exemplary customer service to students.
  • Performs reconciliation of student accounts activities to the general ledger.
  • Works closely with Offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, Finance and Information Systems.
  • Supports maintenance of the Banner accounts receivable module as well as work with third party service providers.
  • Coordinates training of staff in Banner and PeopleSoft general ledger.
Educational/Training Requirements:

Bachelors of Science in Business Administration

Experience Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of progressive experience within the Higher Education bursar function
