Job Description

We are seeking applicants for an open rank faculty position with a focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching in health sciences for our innovative Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in teaching and mentoring doctoral students, fostering an environment of collaborative learning and innovation. We are seeking applicants with expertise in a broad array of subjects relevant to the advancement of the health professions including but not limited to community engagement, healthcare disparities and equity, healthcare delivery and practice transformation, clinical trials and pharmaceuticals, and interprofessional healthcare practice and education. Particular interest will be shown to applications describing expertise in statistics, data science, mixed-methods research, and population- and, or community-based research.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching: Provide instruction in various areas, including doctoral level courses on data science, analytics, research methodologies, and advanced statistics.
Train graduate students to become productive and thoughtful practitioners across multiple program areas.

Research: Conduct impactful, cutting-edge research. Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the health professions. Engage in interdisciplinarycollaborations within and outside the institution.
Student Mentorship: Guide and mentor DHSc students in their research projects and professional development. Foster a supportive, inclusive, collaborative and challenging academic environment. Utilize an individual development plan structure to mentor doctoral students in their academic and professional development trajectory.
Service: Participate in the service responsibilities of the faculty role, which include committee membership, program development, and collaboration withcommunity partners.
Program Development: Contribute to the continued development of the DHSc program including building interdisciplinary partnerships across the enterpriseand increasecurricular offerings to students. Further engage in program development around a future Ph.D. program.
Admissions and Recruitment: Work with and support the program director and the office of admissions and enrollment to plan and manage the programrsquo;srecruitment andadmissions process, including interviewing and selecting students, representing the program at recruitment forums, contributing to marketingand communication efforts, and assisting with planning of enrollment targets and program budget.

A research-focused doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, DHA, PsyD, PharmD, DHSc etc.) earned by January 1, 2024, in public health, health policy, global health, sociomedical sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health sciences, translational research, health professions education, or closely related health professions disciplines (e.g., health administration, economics, political science, psychology, counseling, public policy, sociology, nutrition, etc.).

Demonstrated record of achievement in research and teaching.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven expertise in interdisciplinary research, training, and service to improve healthcare
Strong foundation in statistical analysis, research design, and program evaluation.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals, including social scientists, behavioral scientists, clinical scientists, clinicians,andpolicyscholars.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to addressing race, gender-based, and ability-based barriers in all professional areas.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for effectively collaborating and maintaining good working relationships with a diverse population.
A deep commitment to addressing issues in racial/ethnic minority and immigrant health, health disparities, discrimination and structural racism, socialdeterminants of health, and related topics in research, teaching, and clinical practice.
