We are currently seeking a Section Manager - Civil/Structural to join our Power & Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electric Transmission Team in Reading, PA.

The Section Manager - Civil/Structural, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within their discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. Additionally, they are responsible for the planning, scheduling, conduction, and coordination of detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. The Section Manager - Civil/Structural position provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. They provide technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.).

The Section Manager - Civil/Structural role resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS
    A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience required; previous project or team management experience preferred
  • PE required
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to manage the activity within the team
  • Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting processes
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the discipline's technical processes
  • Occasional travel required
