Job Description

SUMMARY: Hands-on position engaging in and overseeing the design and production of sepcialty parts/components with a core focus on advanced elements of machinery used in corporate-wide production activities. Work closely with management operating the shop, inventory, training of new and current staff, and enforcing safety measures. Reports to the regional or local supervisor.

  • Full-time position paying $35.00/hr. to $40.00/hr
  • Monday to Friday
  • First shift 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Weekly paycheck.
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, design, or modify new and/or existing parts using a computer or existing materials.
  • Review blueprints and related forms, specs, and layouts for fabrication.
  • Perform weekly location inventory of equipment and parts to ensure proper supplies are available for upcoming task and projects.
  • Review equipment and tools for damage, wear, and general condition.
  • Place orders for all necessary items for completion of projects.
  • Ensure location safety protocols are posted and adhered to by all employees and visitors at the fab location.
  • Assist fabrication employees, as needed.
  • Compile and complete a weekly report on available machinery and the status of work in progress.
  • Check in machinery from other locations.
  • Disassemble parts/components and machinery.
  • Tear down machines and separate parts/components
  • Maintain log of machine repair
  • Clean parts/components
  • Build/Create basic parts for machines using a variety of tools and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain daily individual time and productivity logs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS include the following:

  • 5+ years advanced welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer based drafting programs (CAD) or willingness to learn.
  • Proven advanced experience with machine repair and maintenance.
  • Proven experience building or manufacturing parts for machines using various materials including steel, aluminum, and plastic.
  • Proven team leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently (alone or in a team environment).
