Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Bridge Engineer will be applying structural engineering and detailing techniques to
lead bridge aspects of projects. The types of projects include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete beams, etc.)
box culvert layout, retaining wall design and substructure design. Regular activities include selecting standard bridge
engineering/design procedures; producing structural design using specialized software such as Microstation, Excel,
MathCAD and the PennDOT suite of programs; and performing structural load calculations as well as assisting with
geometric layout and quantity development. The Bridge Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing and/or checking
design calculations, drawings, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs. Will be responsible for monitoring task progress and for technical coordination with other disciplines. Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications
BSCE required.
PE or ability to obtain.
5+ years bridge/structural design experience required.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Microstation.
Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software (STAAD, LARSA and the PennDOT programs).

Experience managing junior staff.
Willingness to engage in business development activities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications
MSCE in Structural Engineering preferred.
