Behavioral Health and Med Surg Float Pool Registered Nursesare responsible for the following:

  • Performs patient procedures within the nursing scope of practice.
  • Practices safe medication administration and assesses patient responses to medication.
  • Participates in reviewing and/or implementing clinical pathways and care coordination.
  • In this role you will be responsible for: Participating in the development and evaluation of nursing practices provided in the clinical setting and the overall function of the clinical area. This includes planning and provision of comprehensive nursing care to a specific group of patients and delivery of medical regimens prescribed for those patients by a licensed physician, and participation in the identification and resolution of nursing practice and unit problems.
  • You will have the opportunity to float between 2 inpatient behavioral health units, the Crisis Response Center and Med/Surg.
  • Bargaining Unit: PASNAP

The Behavioral Health and Med Surg Float Pool Registered Nursewill provide professional nursing care to a group of patients within a specified time period and complete all required documentation. Qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor#39;s degree in Nursing required.
  • Graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing and /or college required.
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license, active and in good standing is required.
  • At least 1 year RN Behavioral Health experience preferred.
  • At least three years RN hospital experience in Med/Surg or higher acuity experience is required
  • Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health environment is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Successful completion of General Pharmacology test is required

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
