Job Description
RK&K is currently seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors, Supervisors, and Managers (TCI, TCIS, TCM) for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and Municipal highway and bridge projects throughout South Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. This is a field position that will work primarily at a construction site in PennDOT Districts 5 and 8. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of inspection experience including roadway and structure, construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications.

RK&K also hires those with related experiences such as contractor, military, and surveyor experience.

Eligible candidates can qualify for sign-on bonus! The amount will be determined based on experience and/or certifications.

Required Minimum Experience

  • One (1) year of experience as a PennDOT Technical Assistant
  • Or (2) two years minimum of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience
  • Or (4) four (4) years minimum of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience, and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules
  • Or Possess a Transportation Technology Construction Inspection certification received through an accredited Technology program approved by the Department
  • Or Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in a non-Civil Engineering field and must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules
  • Or Holds an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Or Holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Or Holds an active Professional Engineers License (PE)

Preferred Skills and Training

  • NICET Highway Construction Level 2 or higher
  • NECEPT Asphalt Field Certification
  • ACI/PennDOT Concrete Certification
  • Experience using PennDOT ECMS v3 and PPCC
  • Experience performing field inspections for roadway and bridge construction projects
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License
  • Ability to use an electronic tablet and computer and Microsoft Office products required
  • Ability to navigate construction sites in different terrain and weather conditions required
  • Ability to work day and/or night shifts, based on the type of operation taking place required
  • Ability to multitask project assignments and to work independently required
  • Applicants must have their own vehicle and a valid driver's license

Pay Rate: $22.79 - $41.19 / hour

Pay rate depends on experience level. Mileage for duty-related driving will be reimbursed.
