Where You Will Work

You will be part of a specialized team within our global R&D organization that focuses on the innovation and enablement of science and optimization within our industry leading supply chain solutions. Our R&D team is the heart and soul of Manhattan Associates' product portfolio. We create and design the future of our products, positioning them ahead of the curve technically, operationally, and scientifically over our competitors. What Will You Do

Some of the important things you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for comprehensive algorithm modeling: from research and design conception, through proof-of-concept, solution benchmarking, testing, delivery, and ongoing solution support and enhancements.
  • Model complex systems within the context of Supply Chain Management, such as transportation planning and execution, warehouse & distribution management systems, order management systems, allocation & replenishment, and/or inventory planning & optimization systems. You will not be siloed to just one sub-domain but will have the opportunity to participate and contribute across our portfolio.
  • You will be viewed as and counted upon to be an optimization expert, thought leader, and mentor
  • Collaborate with product leaders to identify opportunities, influence product vision, and analyze business problems and requirements - ultimately to translate them into robust comprehensive algorithmic and scientific solution designs.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses and modeling of complex operational and management problems using techniques such as: advanced analytics, mathematical modeling, mathematical programming, heuristics/meta-heuristics, network analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning and/or simulation
  • Have direct contact with customers to fully gain an understanding about their business problems, while also collaborating with product leaders, product development & services teams, and of course fellow scientists

What You Need

  • PhD in operations research, computer science, industrial engineering or a related technical field specializing in Transportation, Warehouse Management, Order Management, Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting, and/or Inventory Management. Research experience in multiple areas is highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and production experience in optimization, robust algorithmic modeling, mathematical programming, meta-heuristics, statistics, and simulation
  • Solid working knowledge / experience with CPlex (et al), Matlab (et al), leading statistical packages
  • Solid working knowledge in Java and/or C/C++, Python (or similar scripting language), and SQL
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, documentation, and presentation skills
