Job Description/Essential Functions:

The candidate selected for the position of Director of Clinical & Behavioral Services in the Developmental Services Division of Horizon House will:

  • have a strong background in cognitive and behavioral psychology;
  • have received doctoral degree from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program and have completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship;
  • a current Pennsylvania license in clinical psychology;
  • experience in administrative and clinical supervision of intensive services for co-occurring (IDD/MH) Home and Community Habilitation Services;
  • be dedicated to assisting clients in achieving personal outcomes;
  • has demonstrated a history of interacting well with clients, peers and direct support professionals;
  • has demonstrated the capacity to pursue new business development to expand and to improve existing services and to respond to changing client needs/interests; and,
  • be a proven team player having managerial service experience in assuring compliance with state regulations and agency policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will:

  • provide ongoing assessment and intervention to clients having a variety of mental health symptoms and maladaptive behaviors using individual and group processing formats;
  • be expected to supervise and conduct effective group modalities, including therapy/counseling, psycho-education, and skill development while actively supporting Rehabilitation Counselors' role as group co-facilitators.
  • provide clinical supervision to the Clinical Nurse Manager for Healthcare Services, Behavior Support Specialist(s), interns from area academic entities and oversight of external clinicians supporting DS clients;
  • be expected to provide leadership in planning and implementing responses to emergent behavioral crisis situations, including prevention/intervention strategies, coordination of necessary first responder and/or offsite services (e.g., psychiatric hospitalizations, crisis respite).
  • have an office and travel to points of service delivery throughout SE Pennsylvania;
  • Experience in use Microsoft Office Suite for record keeping, form development, and data base design and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and interdisciplinary teams
