    Overview

    The Human Resources Manager will serve as a strategic business partner alongside Operational and Human Resource Senior leadership (VPHR/DSVP/RVPs) throughout the East Coast region. The Human Resources Manager will contribute to the success of HR team’s Key Impact Areas’ metrics in attracting, retaining, developing and protecting human capital.

    The HR Manager will provide leadership to field partners, HR and Operations, by providing resources, development, and guidance on employment actions. This role will focus on achieving positive engagement, and leveraging people/talent toward attainment of organizational goals.

    Responsibilities
    • Lead Spectra-driven initiatives for HR in Food Services & Hospitality for the East Coast division.
    • Partner with Spectra Leadership (DSVP, RVP) and HR Leadership in resolving a full range of human resource matters in an effective, positive and defensible manner.
    • Provide oversight of the HR team members in the Eastern Division, including driving the selection process, training, and development; providing field support and resources in coordination with Spectra VP Human Resources and Legal Department to respond to charges, claims or complaints filed through state and/or federal agencies (EEOC, DOL, DFEH, etc.).
    • Attain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Spectra business needs and programs to effectively partner with and deliver support with respect to new business onboarding, compliance, new business/workforce planning, etc.
    • Partner with Corporate HR in the development and implementation of training initiatives to improve Spectra’s management capabilities related to effective employee performance management, conflict management and employment compliance practices
    • Work collaboratively as a partner with HR Leadership in recruiting, operations, compensation and benefits, training and development, labor relations and other functional areas to provide business solutions to field partners
    • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective listener and provider of effective business solutions.
    • Partner with HR leadership team in ongoing organizational design efforts for business, ensuring the organization is able to take advantage of a streamlined operating model and accelerate its strategic agenda
    • Aide in change management activities, develop and sustain the organization’s capacity for change and support workforce transformation efforts
    • Research best practices and provides strategic recommendations based on data analysis and incorporation of metrics to measure outcomes.
    • Ensure the consistent application of HR policies, processes and systems within supported business line, while working cohesively across other lines within the organization.
    • Define and orchestrate an effective and strong organization by helping organizations focus on their key capabilities.
    • Drive succession planning with leadership to meet business priorities
    • Leads or participates in project work to support business needs and priorities, and/ or other Human Resources initiatives, as determined by the VP of Human Resources.
    Qualifications
    • BA or BS in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field required.
    • Certification in Human Resources (PHR/SHPR or GPHR) - strongly preferred.
    • Minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources
    • Experience working with Unions, CBA administration and grievance resolution - preferred
    • Regional work history with a multi-unit foodservice or hospitality company
    • Live within a commutable distance of Philadelphia, PA to ensure connectivity with local business partners.
    • The ability to telecommute (work from home), and travel to assigned business partner destinations throughout the Eastern region, as necessary
    • Experience conducting and managing corporate investigations of complex/sensitive workplace complaints related to EEO, compliance and related allegations required.
    • Solid knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws, governmental and regulatory compliance requirements, HR principles and best practices, investigative practices, and conflict management practices.
    • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, conducting investigations, documenting findings, counseling managers and employees on best-practices and the interpretation of policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of the principles and best practices human resources management and supervision
    • Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
    • Strong partnering, diplomacy, collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
    • Demonstrated orientation to flexibility and adaptability to changing business conditions and needs.
    • Ability to gain respect and credibility with people at all organizational levels and geographic locations; managerial courage to stand against the prevailing opinions with data-based information and high integrity.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Computer and technologically proficient; strong working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other common HR applications.
    • Ability to work independently, without direct supervision, and maintain a remote or home office; travel as business demands require.
    • Demonstrated high standard of ethics and possess sound judgment, adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
