Job Summary:

New opportunity to grow with us! Due to a recent promotion, we are seeking a Product Manager for our rail equipment group's grinding and specialty products. In this role, you may work from your choice of our Columbia, SC or Fairmont, MN offices.

As Product Manager, you will plan, communicate and execute strategies for your product line to achieve revenue and profitability targets by leading product innovation, positioning and planning. In this role, you will serve as the key link among the customer, commercial team, and the internal operational team. You'll execute a full market analysis to identify key growth opportunities based on ROI; develop short- and long-term strategic plans, and drive revenue growth. You'll develop quantified value propositions for your product line with effective pricing strategies and work closely with sales to deploy. You'll work closely with R&D to develop new products and new raw material sources. You will work directly with customers, serving as SME for technical sales presentations, and you will collect, analyse and apply voice of the customer feedback for your product line. Acting as the marketing expert for this line, you will develop / execute a product marketing strategy, create content and copy for marketing collateral and sales tools, lead product training and provide quotation guidance to the sales team, integrate the product line into Harsco branding, and ensure effective product positioning and placement.

This position requires approximately 25% travel, globally.

Requirements:

About you:

You bring a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Electronic, Civil, Computer, Software or Mechatronics Engineering coupled with 5+ years of experience in marketing, project engineering, or sales in the rail or heavy equipment industry.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA or demonstrated ability to analyze and manage financial aspects of product line success; 7+ years of related experience managing an engineering-based product line (complex capital equipment); experience with value-driven sales methods; advanced skills using Micro Soft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups). Experience with risk management, change management and Lean or Six Sigma would be ideal. You will have well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and will be comfortable working in a matrix organization across functions and regions.
