CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter to join our American Fire Team located in either Birmingham, AL; Concord, NC; Atlanta, GA; Panama City, FL; Tennessee, or South Carolina.

American Fire, A CHA Company, offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.

The Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the complete installation of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings according to standards. Some specific duties and tasks will include:

    Assembling and installing a variety of metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper
  • Installing and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment such as pumps and tanks.
  • Interpreting work specifications and fire codes
  • Testing systems for leaks
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • OSHA 30 Training required or must obtain within 30 days of employment
  • No industry experience is required however knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and construction trades is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and redline fab drawings preferred
  • Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working within ducts, crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments
  • Ability to work at heights in a man lift and lift 50+ pounds above head
  • Must have excellent communication skills and positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Must be willing to travel
