CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Distribution Technician III to join our Electric Distribution Team based in either Colonie, Syracuse, or Buffalo, NY.

We welcome applicants seeking a flexible hybrid work environment allowing for time at home, in the office, and travel to client sites.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's distribution team has the deep experience and skill set to plan, design, and permit electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems.

The Electrical Distribution Technician III will be responsible for field surveys of electrical distribution networks and other complex projects while also providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff on the team. This individual will have a strong working knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems as well as a general understanding of our client GIS design system applications. The Electrical Distribution Planner III will also continuously review workloads to identify schedule issues and will communicate with project leadership to ensure prioritization. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys collaborating, is comfortable using technology, and enjoys working in the field on occasion.

REQUIREMENTS
    Associate degree in Electrical or Civil engineering, engineering technology, GIS, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years related experience is required
  • Experience with electric distribution grids preferred
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling programs such AutoCAD, GIS, ikeGPS and Work Management Systems
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to travel regionally in-state (50%) and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required
