Job Description

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assist Medical Oncology Pharmacist in preparing and compounding chemotherapies using closed system transfer devices in USP797 and USP 800 compliant conditions
  • Act as Purchaser for Medical Oncology area, ensuring compliance with 340B program
  • Assist Medical Oncology Pharmacist with documenting and charging of chemo waste
  • Assist Medical Oncology Pharmacist in activities related to the prior authorization process for chemotherapy administration reimbursement
  • Assist Medical Oncology Pharmacist in obtaining patient own medication from outside pharmacies prior to patient treatment appointments
  • Report monthly financials related to purchasing expenses in the area to the Director of Pharmacy and Medical Oncology Director
  • This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) Neonate, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric, and Frail Elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

  • High School graduate and 3 yearsrsquo; experience as a hospital pharmacy technician required
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification Required
  • Successful passing of a pharmacy calculations test required
