About the team:

The Offline Database team at FIS is focused on adding new customers into our settlement applications. We work closely with our developers and project teams to provide a seamless transition for our customers. Change management is an important aspect of what we do. Since the team is responsible for production configuration, accuracy and attention is a must. The financial world is a fast paced, ever changing environment which requires the team to learn new things quickly.


What you will be doing:

In this role you will be a part of a team that works primarily on the IBM mainframes. This team is responsible for configuring all aspects of settlement including the setting up of reports, distribution of those reports and the funds movement involved with those reports. Knowledge of JCL, Control M and control cards is an asset.

  • Performs database setup in certification and production environments for new and existing clients to achieve timely and accurate implementation.

  • Performs production database activities to ensure error free maintenance.

  • Participates in resolution of database problems within appropriate timeframes.

  • Ensures database procedures are up-to-date and accurate.

  • Effectively performs database analysis and setup in quality assurance and production environments for new products and product enhancements.

  • Assists in the development and implementation process for estimating work efforts, establishing target dates and communicating work status for projects.

  • Assists in the development and implementation process for updating input mechanisms to support new products and enhancements.

  • Develops, tracks and communicates statistical reporting for department.

  • Provides status reports to manager in a timely manner.

  • Participates in special projects as assigned.


Schedule:

Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm

(Some 24x7 on-call support if necessary)

What you bring:

  • Basic understanding of telecommunications and IBM processing

  • Familiarity with basic office tools

  • Problem-solving and process improvement skills

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented

  • Must have good organizational skills and be detailed-oriented

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business or computer-related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
