Position Summary: Inspects incoming materials and components procured by the company to ensure that the material meets the requirements defined by purchase orders, drawings, and industry standards so that compliant materials are supplied to the manufacturing department. Position Responsibilities:
Performs visual and mechanical inspections of all parts and materials received at the company that will be used to produce deliverable products. Utilizes microscopes, test equipment, and standard measuring equipment to perform inspections to verify specs to technical drawings.
Performs inspection of parts for compliance to industry standards, military specifications, and customer drawings. Utilizes inspection tools such as height gauges, pin gauges, calipers, micrometers and rulers.
Verifies and properly stores all required paperwork including certifications, test data, etc. as listed on the purchase order. This includes entry of documentation into the Quality System software.
Works with Quality Engineers and Purchasing in the disposition of non-conforming material.
Assigns shelf life to incoming chemicals and other age sensitive materials.
Assists in keeping the inspection department compliant with all ISO/AS9102 requirements on continuing basis.
Responsible for the general order and upkeep of workstations and the Receiving Inspection department.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.
Essential Skills:
Basic knowledge of technical drawing interpretation specific to COTS and mil-spec parts including PWB’s
Experience with Military and International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation
Experience with and understanding of standard measuring equipment
Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities
Proficient computer skills
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time
Strong mathematical skills
Possesses attention to detail and problem solving skills
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance
DOD experience a plus but not necessarily required
Has current or prior IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 certification
Ability to pass vision acuity exam per J-STD-001 and NASA STD’s
Experience with Military and International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation a plus.
Ability to work additional hours as required

Hours 6:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. every other Friday, with additional hours as needed
