Summary:

We are currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator at our Brackenridge Operations. This position is responsible for accurate payment and closing of various payrolls. Analyze and calculate incentives, pay adjustments, etc. and apply to the Hourly employees pay. Investigate and research material for Labor Relations. Follow guidelines established by the Finance Management, Labor Relations and Union contracts. Administer payroll policies, pay practices and guidelines set with Kronos Time & Attendance System.

Essential Functions:

  • Review man-time for errors and discrepancies in hours worked.
  • Make incentive payments to include charges and apply new pay standards to incentive calculations
  • Work with Industrial Engineers and IT personnel for proper calculation of incentives via blue sheets.
  • Review the pre edit automated incentive calculation report and the final periodically making manual adjustments for proper payment of each individual incentive plan.
  • Pay closing process: Analyze and clean up Kronos clock cards; reconcile Kronos clock cards to the SOE (summary of earnings); make necessary corrections on the summary of earnings through the corrections application; verify with the DA's (Department Approver) and/or Schedulers to obtain missing information to ensure proper pay to employee; verify final Summary of Earnings (SOE) - check that all totals and pay percent's are correct; verify gross-to-net report and check all totals so that the final payroll can be processed.
  • Upload corrections to the server to be processed; when applicable, calculate late man-time/production reports from prior pay periods for shortages and overages; verify missing punches on time cards; submit vacation requests; calculate vacations rate; end of the year reconciliation; maintain vacation information.
  • Prepare documents for closing payrolls and month-end estimates. Make proper adjustments. Close and balance employees' earnings.
  • Calculate correct pay for funeral leave, military leave and jury duty in accordance with the guidelines of the contract. Verify Co-op payment and enter in ADP.
  • Generate a 13 week pay period average report for the I.E.'s and upper management and process other required reports.
  • Make wage adjustments to incorrect payment. Process retroactive pay adjustments when necessary. Provide assistance to hourly employees concerning payroll matters.
  • Maintain some vacation weeks and single days in the Kronos System.
  • Work closely with DA's (Department Approvers) and Schedulers for discrepancies: Payroll reviews DA work to ensure it is performed timely and correctly. Payroll sends out a daily discrepancy report to the DA's at all locations for correction. All discrepancies not corrected by DA's/Schedulers are corrected by Payroll.
  • May be responsible for distribution of pay checks to correct plants.
  • Cross train to attain a working knowledge of the Hourly Payroll organization.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in payroll

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Previous experience in Payroll related systems (ADP, ADP Reporting, Tandem, Maximo, IBM, Kronos, Reflections, On-demand, METR - Meeting/Event Time Reports, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all employee levels
  • Ability to learn and keep up-to-date in payroll laws and regulations
  • Ability to interpret union contracts
  • Be highly motivated, a team player, and poses excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze payroll data with excellent math knowledge, understanding payroll calculations and accounting procedures and reporting responsibilities.
