Expand your knowledge in fingerprinting services and become a Fingerprint Technician! The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) has a long history of serving the citizens of Pennsylvania with honest and faithful police work. Your analytical skills will help us classify, examine, and match fingerprints and palm prints from a variety of sources. If you are self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, this is a great opportunity for you!
As a Fingerprint Technician, you will operate systems to process criminal or applicant fingerprint requests submitted by criminal justice agencies and vendors. In this position, you will analyze fingerprint submissions by verifying correct sequencing and image data as well as making identity determinations through the analysis of side-by-side images. You will need to determine positive or non-positive identification of an individual that results in creating or updating records within state and federal files. Additionally, you will search state and federal fingerprint and criminal history files to locate incomplete or inaccurate information.
