Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years experience.
Oversees and manages the University's residential facilities, residence life educational programs, residentially-based academic communities, residence life student and professional staff, and all promotional communications for the department. Ensures the safety and security of residents and development of the departmental comprehensive emergency management plan. Facilitates operational decisions within broadly defined parameters that require a high level of judgement. Establishes the direction, goals, implementation strategy, and policies of the department. Performs budgetary functions.
The position is a live-on position. The incumbent's fundamental responsibilities include personal, on-site/on scene assessment of and response to situations, crises and follow-up; initiation and effective delivery of verbal and written communication; personal visitation of students in both private and public areas; planning and management of tasks and responsibilities; report writing and task/event administration.
Daytime responsibilities are 80% sedentary. Evening and weekend responsibilities require conducting building tours and on-site response and resolution of situations. These activities may necessitate climbing or descending staircases, hills and traveling through inclement weather. Visitations may also involve standing for long periods of time.
