Director, Adult Residential Behavioral Health Services

$65000 - $85000 per year

Elwyn is seeking a driven and experienced Director, Adult Residential Behavioral Health Services (ARBHS), to join our growing team. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our residential programs, ensuring the highest quality care for our residents while strategically guiding program expansion and innovation.



What You'll Do:

  • Leading with Excellence: Providing direct oversight and mentorship to program directors and staff, ensuring exceptional service delivery across all ARBHS programs (personal care homes, CRR programs, supported living arrangements).
  • Championing Quality: Collaborating with the Quality Improvement team to implement best practices, maintain program compliance with regulations (MCO, CARF, PCH, CRR), and develop outcome measures to track resident progress.
  • Driving Growth: Developing and implementing strategic plans to expand our service offerings, identify new program opportunities, and secure sustainable funding to meet the growing needs of the community.
  • Financial Acumen: Overseeing the financial performance and operational efficiency of all ARBHS programs, ensuring responsible budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Building a Strong Team: Recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching a talented team of program directors and staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Building Relationships: Representing Elwyn at community events, collaborating with stakeholders, and advocating for the needs of our residents.


Who You Are:

  • A passionate leader with a Master's degree (or Bachelor's degree with extensive experience) in a human services field like Behavioral Health, Psychology, Public Health, or Public Administration.
  • Five or more years of successful management and supervisory experience in a behavioral health or social services setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and overseeing program budgets, ensuring financial stability, and achieving program goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines governing adult residential behavioral health programs (MCO, CARF, PCH, CRR).
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain a strong focus on detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to independently navigate challenges and find creative solutions.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and understanding the complexities of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Current CPR and safe crisis intervention training.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with electronic client records and employee timekeeping systems a plus.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
