Our caseworkers secure the safety, permanency, and well-being of our children by responding to reports of child abuse and neglect, investigating allegations, coordinating with law enforcement, testifying in court, and connecting with service providers, family members, and other resources. Newly hired full-time caseworkers with fewer than 12 months of consecutive full-time experience as a caseworker at any county child welfare agency in Pennsylvania are eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $2,000.00 within 30 days of the individual's confirmed eligibility and active, regular (versus temporary) employment with County of Blair. Individual's name must appear on a Civil Service list from an eligible caseworker job posting.
Newly hired full-time caseworkers with 12 or more months of consecutive full-time experience as a Caseworker 1 or Caseworker 2 at any county child welfare agency in Pennsylvania and holding current certification as a Child Welfare Direct Service Worker by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services are eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $5,000.00 within 30 days of the individual's confirmed eligibility and active, regular (versus temporary) employment with County of Blair. Individual's name must appear on a Civil Service list from an eligible caseworker job posting.
Newly hired full-time caseworkers shall mean an individual that has not been employed by Blair County in any capacity within 12 consecutive months prior to the date of their application.
Hiring incentives require that the hire stay a full 24 months, or pay County a pro-rated portion of the payment for the time not worked up to the 24-month stay period.
