Are you interested in a career opportunity? The Department of Labor & Industry, Unemployment Compensation Board of Review is seeking an Appeals Referee for our Harrisburg office. In this position, you will hear and decide first level appeals and, when requested, serve as a hearing officer for second level appeals. An Appeals Referee is responsible for scheduling and conducting unemployment compensation (UC) appeal hearings. After evaluation of evidence, you will issue clear and concise decisions in a timely manner, making finding of facts legally sufficient to support the decision. This position interprets policy and procedure from Unemployment Compensation (UC) Law and regulations and conducts legal research. While assigned to a specific referee office, Referees regularly hold hearings in other counties and may also assist other referee offices on occasion.
