DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Semi Skilled Laborer, you will work inside and outdoors, performing specialized duties in the repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and machinery, in addition to reading blue prints and sketches to accurately complete tasks. You will assist the Facilities Operations Manager 2 and Maintenance Repairman 2 in operating and maintaining HVAC systems by changing air filters, cleaning coils, changing thermostats, maintaining circulator pumps, exhaust fans, fresh air fans, and their controls. This essential position is also responsible for checking and maintaining plumbing and electrical systems, general painting and caulking duties, pouring concrete, landscape maintenance, snow removal, and more.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is designated as essential.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Conditions of Employment:

  • You must possess a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must be willing and able to commute or relocate to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dauphin County.
  • You must possess a valid PA Driver's License.
  • You must have experience in building grounds maintenance.
  • You must have experience in building interior maintenance.
  • You must have the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • You must have experience in welding.
  • You must have experience in interior/exterior painting.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
