GAI Consultants is seeking a CAD Operator candidate for support of Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.Thrive in GAI's corporate culture that empowers employee advancement with support for career and professional development and engages with staff to build mutual trust and respect and consideration for diverse perspectives, people, experiences, and ideas.

Job Duties:

  • Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
  • Assist in compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
  • Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
  • Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
  • Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and/or intelligent design software (BIM) experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn multiple software platforms including, but not limited to, advanced 3D modeling and intelligent design software.
  • Attending project-specific meetings as required.
  • Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments.
  • Ability to work extended hours or after hours when required.
  • Learning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards.
  • Effective communication with the project team.

Qualifications

Education Required

  • Technical/other training or better in Drafting or related field.

Experience Required

  • Less than 3 years: Experience as a CAD Operator
