Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner in Hanover, PA. The Hanover Manufacturing Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for leading a team of HR Generalists to support the HR related needs of our Hanover Campus manufacturing facilities. This high-energy, relationship focused, customer-centric role will work under the direction of the Director of Human Resources with local business leaders to deliver HR support in the areas of performance management, coaching, and employee engagement. In addition, this position will support key strategic HR initiatives by building positive employee relations, implementing policy changes, and will provide support with regard to human resources objectives across the organization. Ability to read, write & communicate in English and Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ambassador, partner and champion of the Utz culture, history, and its people - responsible for fostering the values of the company and its associates, while building on the company's success for continued growth and achievement.
  • Serve as a trusted resource, partner, and advisor to our manufacturing leaders on HR related topics.
  • Maintain visibility and act as an ambassador to all associates through frequent visits to production areas.
  • Responsible for employee relations strategies ensuring consistent interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Support employee investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Resource for associate questions and concerns, effectively supporting the company's Open-Door Policy.
  • Partner with leaders of assigned areas to provide coaching and consulting to managers and employees in the areas of performance management, employee retention, workforce planning, leader and employee development, positive employee relations practices, policy development and conflict resolution.
  • Actively drive employee retention activities.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to ensure adequate staffing in areas of oversight.
    • Engage in planning strategy with Talent Acquisition team to ensure future planning of seasonal needs.
  • Proactively recommend ideas and solutions to effectively address the needs of the organization.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in training activities for assigned locations (i.e. orientation programs, respect in the workplace, leadership, etc.).
  • Oversee and respond to all information related to unemployment compensation, including claims, hearings and verifications.
  • Participate and at times lead the design, development, and rollout of HR programs.
  • Understand the function of each position in the plant and support the strategic initiatives of the business.
  • Champion and ensure all related company communications (e.g. initiatives, milestones, policy changes) are distributed plant wide.
  • Plan associate events to bolster morale and create associate engagement.
  • Assist in other HR employment activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English and Spanish is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or related field is preferred.
  • 5 plus years of related Human Resources oversight and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of human resources best practices - recruitment; development and training; associate engagement; succession planning; performance management.
  • Ability to view the business broadly, connecting business and human resources goals to help drive a best-in-class culture.
  • Ability to assess a situation and adapt communication appropriately to ensure effective delivery to associates at all levels.
  • Ability to utilize past learnings to anticipate potential issues, determine reasonable solutions to problems, and build simplified plans to drive improvement.
  • Demonstrate a focus on continuous learning and an ability to effectively teach, coach, and influence others in order to motivate and gain appropriate buy-in to drive results.
  • Ability to be an agent of change to influence teams to shift quickly as our business evolves.
  • Passion for our associates, customers, and the snack food manufacturing industry.
  • Self-motivated for continued success and achievement, both professionally and in support of company objectives.
