The Athletic Department at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Assistant Wrestling Coach. Duties include assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of a sports program. Recruits athletes, mentors athletes, fosters athletic, emotional, and academic group of student athletes. Oversees sports equipment, practice plans and schedules, skill development, and designs coaching strategies. Oversees public and media relations. Coordinates team travel and schedule. Adheres to all rules and regulations.

Coaching - carries out coaching assignments during daily workouts, practices, and scheduled events. Enforces team rules. Maintains statistics. Monitors assigned athlete's performance and employs specific coaching modalities to meet needs.
Recruiting - recruits student athletes, assists with department recruiting efforts, and carries out scouting assignments.
Financial & General - assist with budget planning. Assist with coordination of team travel. Work with facilities department to adhere to practice and competition schedules.
Physical conditioning - consult with trainers and team physicians in monitoring the well-being of student athletes.
Academic monitoring - assists in monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.
Other duties as assigned.
Instructing and demonstrating physical skills while coaching; extensive travel via car, air, and bus. Must stand for long periods of time at games and at practice. May participate in drills or practices. May have to lift or transport equipment.
