Safety Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensures that all Safety Standards for the Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, facility meet regulatory compliance for local, state and federal laws and ordinances
• Develops company standard operating procedures to support regulations and administer the National Beef Safety Standards for operative adherence
• Keeps current on new legislative changes and the impact they have on our business and initiating timely compliance
• Ensures that all Environmental standards for the the plant meet regulatory compliance
• Leads development and integration of recycling, sustainability and ISO 14001 requirements
• Designs and delivering regulatory safety and environmental training and coordinating with outside sources to assure training is completed in a timely fashion
• Assists in the creation and dissemination of innovative programs, new ideas, etc., to maintain a high level of safety and educational awareness
• Conducts audits, inspections and job observations to assure that the plant successfully meets company performance standards
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment including recommending measures to reduce and/or eliminate industrial accidents and health hazards in compliance with OSHA regulations through data collection and analyzing date via stats and investigative forms, while maintaining training and equipment testing records, Emergency Response manual, Safety & Health manual to ensure compliance for all OSHA regulated programs
• Assists the Human Resource Department in presenting safety training for new hire orientation as well as periodic monthly and annual training for all current employees
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualified candidates for the Safety Manager position should possess the following:

• Safety Management Experience (5 years minimum)
• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Ability to multi-task and contribute to a team orientated, supportive working environment
• Solid reasoning and problem solving abilities
• High energy level with a strong sense of urgency
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work a non-standard schedule on occasion
• Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office
