We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Credit Advisory Underwriting and Head of Securities Based Lending to join our Wealth Management Private Banking team. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid) The person leading this team is someone looking towards the future, a visionary, able to incorporate the latest industry innovations in technology and client experience.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leading projects, as the subject matter expert, for securities based lending inclusive of technology, regulatory reporting and credit policy.
  • Managing credit analysis effectively to determine client risk profile, underwriting and approval of loans.
  • Leading and developing the team responsible for executing Private Banking Underwriting, for loans secured by marketable securities.
  • Leading the operational activities and resources for the Underwriting and Documentation related to Wealth Management lending activity.
  • Setting strategic priorities and aligning resources with business objectives and annual plan.
  • Leading key initiatives for the team, ensuring the team achieves business goals and maintains high standards of client satisfaction.
  • Reviewing credit analysis to identify future changes/trends in the credit quality of portfolio clients.
  • Developing recommendations for changes in target exposure and deploying strategies to enact needed changes.
  • While being client obsessed it is also important that you can balance the need to do the right thing for our clients with the risk appetite of the bank.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 15+ years of total work experience with 10+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience providing securities based lending solutions to HNW individuals, RIAs and Broker Dealers.
  • Extensive experience in credit analysis required, with exposure to securities based lending and high net worth lending.
  • Deep product knowledge and experience of high risk and high revenue generating credit products.
  • A track record of successfully building and leading teams.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $128,200 and $237,200 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
