Geologist or Scientist

We are seeking a Staff- to Project-Level Geologist or Scientist for our Denver or Lansdale, Pennsylvania office who wants to grow and is passionate about environmental consulting and making a positive impact on the environment. You will work on a wide variety of projects in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey completing assignments in an office setting and in the field.

How you can make an impact

  • Prepare reports such as Phase I/Phase II environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring reports, hydrogeologic characterization reports, and compliance reporting including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches, and figures.
  • Prepare air emission calculations.
  • Help with environmental compliance audits.
  • Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation.
  • Record data during field work, which could include, but is not limited to: soil characteristics, lithology, groundwater and surface water data, photographs, and summaries of visual observations through photographic and written field logs, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including: soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.
  • Oversee drilling activities involving monitoring well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sample collection.
  • Perform and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.
  • Complete quality control reviews on work product (reports, permit applications, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulators, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with business development activities that include meeting with clients and potential clients, preparing proposals, attending conferences, etc.
  • Prepare site specific health and safety plans and participate in health and safety training.
  • Position expected to consist of 70-80 percent office time and 20-30 percent field work.
  • Up to 10 percent travel expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the solid waste industry, environmental permitting, manufacturing/industrial, environmental regulations, assessment/remediation, and environmental compliance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required, field equipment experience required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or ArcGIS preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay range for this position is $60k to $90k depending on experience and location. This does not include bonuses or our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
