To work cross-functionally across all company departments and product lines to produce cutting-edge product concepts and design solutions with a focus on aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and usability
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
*Collaborate with multiple departments including but not limited to Design, Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing on concept generation and evaluation
*Produce models or other relevant presentation materials
*Produce computer models of concept design for prototyping and production
*Responsible for the aesthetics and ergonomics of new product
*Mentor Junior Industrial Designers
*Collaborate daily with Research & Development (R&D) engineering team to develop new products
*Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
*Attend the Annual C-TPAT Security Training
*Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
*Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
*Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

*Prepare and build prototypes
*Use hand tools, standard power tools and standard measuring devices
*Prepare and present to leadership, vendors, and users
*Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Must have:
*Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
*Exceptional sketching and ideation skills
*Strong working knowledge of complex 3D surface modeling with SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software
*Intermediate working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and KeyShot
*Strong mechanical aptitude and empathy for production
*Strong knowledge of industrial design methods
*Constant and keen awareness of latest industrial design trends and manufacturing processes/techniques
*Basic model making/shop skills
*Excellent consumer research skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
PREFERRED SKILLS
*Ability to perform usability-testing on a range of concepts and prototypes with consumers/technicians/dealers - in turn, validate findings with new concept directions and modifications preferred
*Competitive and user research preferred
*Lift/push/pull 40lbs. preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*At least 3 years of design experience in an industrial design or R&D environment supporting design, manufacturing and technical processes
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
*Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Associate Degree in Industrial Design
PREFERRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
