Overview

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level or Jr. Engineer/Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join our growing ECR, Engineering, Construction and Remediation team in our Center City Philadelphia office. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual looking for career growth and will be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support for site investigation, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects.

Our Jr. Engineers/Environmental Scientists/Geologists:


Responsibilities

  • Support environmental compliance and remediation related projects in the field and office.
  • Perform a variety of field work including environmental assessments, environmental investigations, site inspections, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation and subcontractor oversight.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, work plans, design documents, and construction documents in support of engineering design from pilot to full-scale remediation system design.
  • Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Assist during proposal development including preparation of work scopes and budgets.
  • Have good technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills.
  • Travel locally on short and long term assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental science.
  • Prefer one (1) year of environmental compliance or groundwater remediation consulting and design experience.
  • Prefer demonstrated work experience in any of the following areas: environmental compliance, storm water design, SWPPP/SPCC preparation, Tier II reporting, treatment process design and evaluations, design and implementation of in-situ remediation technologies, soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Prefer working knowledge of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and federal environmental regulations (RCRA, OPA, NPDES, NYSDEC, NCP, CERCLA/TRRP, etc.)
  • Experience managing project tasks (field and office) and subcontractors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to pass a company physical exam (indicating that there will be no restrictions for field activities or use of a full-face respirator).
  • Valid driver's license without major violations.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications the qualifications below are highly desired but not required:

  • Two (2) to two (5) years of environmental compliance or groundwater remediation consulting and design experience.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification).
