Almac Group is currently seeking a Procurement Project Lead for our Souderton, PA location. The Procurement Projects Lead is part of the Commercial Product procurement team and is responsible for the Procurement relationship and management of a cohort of Key customer accounts, which includes, but is not limited to, managing product quotations, creating, and cultivating business relationships with key decision makers and developing specific product supply strategies in line with protocol / study requirements. Key customer accounts are defined as clients who are seen as critical to the success of the Clinical Services Business Unit or Almac, which may be accounts of high revenue value or revenue potential. Using procurement, customer relationship and project management skills, the Procurement Projects Lead is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and enhancing client relationships within their assigned accounts, as well as with internal stakeholders that support the key account (Project & SCM). They will support the achievement of revenue and EBITDA targets while working closely alongside the Business development teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support the CPPS in effective and efficient procurement of commercial drug products (including comparators, rescue meds, concomitant medication & specials). Ensuring all products procured comply with cGMP guidelines, meet client expectations and are delivered on time within the products storage & transport conditions.
  • Communicate tactical or strategic sourcing approaches to Commercial Product Procurement Specialists and oversee the delivery of the project in line with Almac internal processes.
  • directly from full-line wholesalers & manufacturers and new markets as required * Support the management of a network of Almac approved suppliers across major operating markets in Europe, North & South America, Asia & Russia.
  • Through supplier interaction and supply knowledge, Identify & develop appropriate purchasing strategies that will deliver effective supply solutions to meet both client's commercial and clinical study requirements
  • Liaise directly with Quality, Logistics Services & Depot teams as required regarding Regulatory, Import & Export issues related to commercial product procurement.
  • Support the maintenance of the knowledge database for Global commercial product supply opportunities & challenges.
  • Record & present monthly data relative to sourcing and supply issues faced and mitigation actions taken
  • Support CPPS in the delivery of quarterly supplier business review meetings (BRM's)
  • * Provide a 'technical sales' service to key clients. Act as a SME in all commercial drug sourcing activities including regulatory and logistical requirements
  • Promote the Commercial Product services offered by Almac Clinical Services to Key accounts through face-face calls, attendance at Project review meetings
  • Ensure that up-to-date information is maintained, and BD financial targets are supported on all allocated accounts.
  • Generate detailed Product supply proposals / strategies to the client that effectively convey business / trial risk vs cost opportunities. Strategies will be delivered either personally or with the assistance of the Proposal Development team. This will involve liaising directly with Project Management, SCM, Logistics and will involve the use of Microsoft Windows-based packages (Word, Excel).
  • Work with other departments and other Almac Clinical Services sites to ensure that clients' requirements as expressed in the proposal are clearly understood. This will include following-up with clients to ensure that any uncertainties that existed at the time generation are confirmed before Procurement activities commence.
  • Revise proposals / strategies in response to changes to client project specifications, and ensuring internal departments are made aware of such changes.
  • Work directly with BD Inside Sales and Marketing Teams to support the development of Procurement offering / plans for core service and territory growth.
  • Support the delivery of presentations to Key Customer whether for Bid-defences, Sales-related, a quality audit, or for some other purpose.
Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Min 2 years' years previous experience in a Purchasing role such as (Buyer , Senior Procurement Specialist, Procurement Analyst, Purchasing Agent.
  • Min 2 years' experience in a Customer Service role such as (Customer Advisor, Customer Assistant / Service Agent).
  • Proven working knowledge of planning, procurement and purchasing systems.
  • Proven working knowledge of the handling of supplier non-conformance issues
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages (to include Outlook, Excel, Word and Access)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative within the boundaries of cGMP and SOPs
Preferred Experience / Education:
  • Bachelor degree in a Business-related discipline or CIPS Accreditation.
  • Min 2 years' experience within a Pharmaceutical 'commercial product' supply environment. e.g. Clinical Trial Supply, Standard Wholesale or Specialized wholesale distribution or Procurement of goods & services in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Min 2 years' experience in a Customer Service role such as (Business Development Officer / Co-Ordinator / Specialist / Manager, Account Manager.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials, especially related to the Procurement , Packaging & Distribution of medication
