Pay Range$98,000 to $112,000

Shifts Available and Hours: Day Shift

Job Summary: The PLC Ignition SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Specialist will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting SCADA systems based on the Ignition platform for Hydro. The role will include interfaces at the PLC level. This position reports to the Team Lead of Process Control.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience or relevant certifications in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting SCADA systems, preferably using the Ignition platform.
  • Proven knowledge of SCADA concepts and protocols, such as OPC-UA, Modbus, and DNP3.
  • Proven efficiencyin programming and scripting languages, such as Python, Java, and SQL.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLC manufacturing networks
  • Experience with Ignition modules, such as Vision, Perspective, and Reporting, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Aluminum, Metals, Extrusion Processes or other Manufacturing Environments preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex SCADA issues.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems and processes, including PLCs, HMIs, and data historians.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for project implementation and support, as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement SCADA systems using Ignition software, including creating screens, tags, and scripts.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Ignition SCADA components such as OPC-UA, drivers, gateways, and databases.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and employees to gather requirements and develop functional specifications for SCADA projects.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and optimization of SCADA systems to ensure reliable and efficient performance.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients for Ignition SCADA-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices related to SCADA and automation technologies.
