Are you looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives? RHD is seeking a Part-Time Life Skills Professional for its Womanspace program located in Ardmore, PA. This position will work alternate weekends on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 12 midnight and pays $16.50 per hour.


Position Summary

Life Skills Professionals support the program by facilitating improved life skills, identifying and accessing community resources and providing support to achieve treatment goals. Additional daily responsibilities include building relationships, providing encouragement, oversight/demonstration of residential cooking and cleaning skills, documentation completion, and accompanying individuals on various outings/appointments.

Essential Duties and Functions

* Engage the participant according to established supervision levels and focus on targeted areas of recovery.

* Assist in the process of identifying, developing and implementing the Individual Recovery Service/Behavioral Plans.

* Implement the goals from the participant's recovery service plan and/or from therapist

* Assist the participants with day-to-day activities and implement social skills.

* Support participants to successfully integrate into the community, such as, teaching them transportation skills, connecting them to community activities and resources, and helping them identify gainful employment.

* Assist/teach self-medication administration for participants as prescribed (after completion of approved training-Quick Mar.

* Prepare, assist with preparing, or supervise menu planning and meal preparation as needed.

Required Experience

One year experience assisting individuals with histories of substance abuse and/or mental health is strongly preferred


Required Education

High School diploma or GED


Required Qualifications

* Valid Driver's License is required

* Clear criminal background and other background checks in accordance with state requirements

* Ability to pass and complete all required trainings

* Ability to convey, understand, and follow spoken and written instructions in English


Program Summary

Womanspace Ardmore is a residential treatment program for chemically dependent women. Recovery and therapy in a home-based atmosphere are aimed at rehabilitation and a return to the community.


Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, use hand to find, handle feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, listen, taste, and smell. The job also requires employees to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs. The individual must be able to manager stairs on a frequent basis.
