What's the role?

The role of an Engineer to Order Prefab Execution Manager, is responsible for directly managing the materials, prefabrication services and all the logistics including final delivery for construction solutions on engineer to order programs or projects that are large and highly complex.

What does the role involve?

  • Participate in capture teams for large projects (if needed and on demand) to perform and assess options for prefab logistics cost calculations following elaborated logistics concept (transport, customs, intermediate storage etc.) to support bidding and proposal phase.
  • Can fully execute repeat orders/projects with and without prefab that have no engineering changes or drawings with tables and variable dimensions with the use of sales orders and or production orders.
  • Visit jobsite with salespeople, field engineers, or strategic business personnel to assess delivery requirements and prefabrication opportunities.
  • Creates customer facing proposals for projects to cover the prefabrication services offered to and agreed on with the customer, including contract writing and pricing.
  • Coordinates all prefab facility activities (master scheduling and planning, stock transfer order movements, production item templates, and consultation on the production floor, liaison between production and Engineer to Order Project Manager)
  • Review drawings and consolidate material orders to determine material cost also ensures use of designer's inventory.
  • Understand design for manufacturing and how to perform rough cut capacity planning to ensure adequate manufacturing resources is available to support program long term per the multiyear pipeline.
  • Understand materials management and supply chain constraints to forecast materials and support program long term per the multiyear pipeline.
  • Ensures product availability by defining a material staging process with Materials Management thru Material Reservation, Project Plants, Supermarket Stock and or stock transfer order process thru SAP.
  • Gather specific customer logistics requirements for materials, specials, and prefabricated materials (e.g., labeling packaging, deliveries, unloading, timing, etc.) and explains cost vs benefits to the sales team.
  • Work with credit and tax teams and customs teams to provide all required project-specific documentation.
  • Ensure correct order entry and on-site delivery, final invoicing and manage customer complaint notices.
  • Assess/mitigate risk throughout project duration, especially when scope changes arise; execute change order management.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor's Degree required emphasis in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in engineering, construction management, or related technical field, required.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; must be able to organize all projects, track successes, and bring these successes to the next project.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to communicate complex situations in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Knowledge of Contract Management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing practices, discrete manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategy, credit terms and profitability.
  • Knowledge of materials management, logistics, & transportation methods.
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, Teams, etc.),
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
