The Machinist will operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. These tasks will include producing or repairing precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.

Responsibilities:

  • Sheet metal fabrication, punching drilling in stainless steel and aluminum
  • Provides machine shop support for R&D with light designing and construction of fixtures
  • Operates and maintains lathe, milling machines to performing tasks to machine drawings
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints to ensure accurate production of parts
  • Takes precise measurements for cutting and shaping parts
  • Selects appropriate machine and settings to perform given tasks
  • Plans proper process steps and methodology prior to performing each modification
  • Assists in building light mechanical assemblies as needed
  • Maintains machine shop replacement stock and raw materials; submits requisitions for such materials to the machine shop supervisor
  • Follows a Machine Shop Priority List, for daily priorities. Parts are kept organized by work order;coordinates closure of work completed
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs of parts or tools
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation
  • Assists with building new or critical assemblies on the floor as needed
  • Demonstrates understanding and proper use of PPE at all times

Qualifications:

High school degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly required. Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • SAP experience preferred
  • Able to use a wide variety of hand power tools for Drilling, Tapping, etc
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Ability to interpret AUTO Cad drawings to perform machining tasks to prints
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mig welding / Tig welding, Tack welding experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks


The expected salary range for this position is $46,000 - 58,000 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
