Are you up for challenges? CAES Mission Systems is looking for a Team Player to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment at the Lancaster PA facility as an EHS Specialist. Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing production environment brings with it an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieving operational excellence.

The EHS Specialist will be the main point of contact for Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs for our CAES-Lancaster facility. This is considered a senior level role in our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Health and Safety programs at the Lancaster facility to ensure continuity.
  • Partners with EHS team members on all EHS programs to include industrial hygiene surveys, job hazard analysis, accident/injury investigations, permits and safety trainings.
  • Partners with EHS team in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety, health and environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable federal (EPA, OSHA, DOT, NRC), state and local environmental, health and safety regulations and applicable CAES EHS Programs
  • Supports the Sr. Manager EHS in developing goals, plans, and objectives for the site
  • Lead medical surveillance and workers compensation programs for the Lancaster site
  • Ensures employee and facility compliance to all safety and environmental requirements.
  • Manages the site Business Continuity and emergency preparedness programs

Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience in a safety role; or
  • Master's Degree and 3 years experience in a safety role
  • Experience must be within an industry with regulatory requirements and high quality standards
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a safety related field of study and 7 years experience.
  • Working knowledge of general environmental, health and safety is required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in a distributed organization.
  • Experience in conducting New Hire Orientations and Safety Trainings
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is desired.
  • Experience in working within an Environmental Management System (ISO14001) or Safety and Health Management System (ISO45001) is a benefit.
  • Strong preference for experience working in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Active Security Clearance

Salary Range: $89,000 - $126,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
