Description

Apprentice Quality Technician

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Apprentice Quality Technician to provide fully on-site quality assurance services in our Stamping Department. This person will perform part inspection and documentation in order to achieve 100% quality production, continually improve manufacturing processes, and assure customer satisfaction. This is a 3 year in-house certificate program.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Apprentice Quality Technician:

  • Primary work function will be inspection of parts to ensure parts are made to print specifications.
  • Use manual measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators as well as automated inspection equipment.
  • Work with manufacturing technicians to achieve acceptable product and meet or exceed customer quality standards.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and inspection logs.
  • Data entry & filing of quality documents and records.
  • Create and maintain inspection documents.
  • Perform required services for internal teams and external customers as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping of inspection equipment and area.
  • Able to work rotating shifts including daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts
Qualifications

Qualifications for the Apprentice Quality Technician:

  • Blueprint reading and measurement tool experience (such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, etc...) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Smart Scopes and Quest machines preferred, not required.
  • Good math ability
  • Must have an understanding of computer skills in Windows platform
  • Team player, service attitude, attention to detail, accurate, and self-motivated
  • Visual acuity (20/20 vision or corrective lenses)
  • Committed to team development, and product and service excellence
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts of day, afternoon and midnight
