Laborer positionfor asphalt road construction crews in Venango, Clarion, Forest, Warren, McKean, and Jefferson counties. This is a union position.
- Perform all work in a safe manner, maintaining an excellent safety environment
- Participate in daily safety huddles
- Shovel asphalt and other materials
- Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates
- Set-up and take down temporary work zones efficiently
- Optimal traffic control in and around work zones (flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers
- Assist in backing and dumping of tri-axles and milling machines
- Handling of hot liquid asphalt and various materials
- Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or cut-off saw
- Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones
- Seal end joints
- Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed
- Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates
- High School Diploma or GED
- Perform tasks efficiently
- Build professional relationships that develop excellent teamwork
- Must be safety conscious
- Able to work long shifts - up to 7 days a week when necessary
- Must be willing to work night shifts when applicable
- Must capable of long periods of standing / walking / moving without sitting
- Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must preform tasks while working in various seasonal climates
- Able to complete tasks with frequent bending, twisting, scooping
- Ability to climb when needed
