Job Description

Summary:

Energy Transfer is seeking a Maintenance Manager responsible for maintenance of our Marcus Hook Terminal. This position is located in Marcus Hook, PA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the facility Director or VP and provides a critical role in the leadership team at MHT.
  • Responsible to provide leadership in Safety, Environmental and reliability for the facility Maintenance and contract workforce. Provide leadership as a team member of the MHT Operations/Maintenance mgmt. staff. Attend and participate in all relevant Safety meetings and activities.
  • Supports and assists HES training activities, policies and procedures.
  • Supports various field and system audits.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Required to be a member of the Incident Command Structure at MHT.
  • Responsible for management of all MHT maintenance activities. This includes managing company and contract personnel.
  • Oversees and directs all Maintenance mgmt. staff. This includes, but not limited to the E&I supervisor & staff, Mechanical/CA supervisors & staff and Schedulers/planners.

* Participate in the weekly planning and scheduling meeting and review call-out overtime usage.

* Review of the weekly schedule, making sure any overdue items are being addressed.

  • Provides guidance to resolve operational problems as required.
  • Works closely with other departments to maintain efficient operations and maintenance practices.
  • Supports capital projects through project commissioning activities.
  • Ensures equipment reliability of assets and the efficiency of the Maintenance workforce and contractors.
  • Prepares and actively manages maintenance expense budget spend.
  • Performs budget re-forecasting on expenses and projects run by Maintenance.
  • Routinely rebids maintenance contracts for optimization of the expense budget.
  • Provides recommendations for operational improvements through submission of capital and expense projects as part of the annual budgeting process.
  • Provides supervisory relief in various areas in the event of a terminal emergency or business needs.
  • Manages MHT Fleet vehicles and specialty equipment. This includes "Telematics" for all facility vehicle tracking.

* Review and update the monthly Compliance & Metric reports.

* Required Weekly maintenance on-call assignment per schedule.

* Hold a staff meeting (monthly).

* Show a routine presence in the field for both in-house and contractor work.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Refinery Maintenance, Pipeline Maintenance, Liquid Terminal Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must possess knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment required for petroleum operations.
  • Prior management experience. (Supervisor, Superintendent, Manager, etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal, Team, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to comply with and enforce Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have excellent PC skills and be proficient with applicable software applications.
  • Must possess knowledge and maintenance of industrial equipment. This includes but not limited to electrical systems, compressors, pumps, engines, motors, valves, vessels, exchangers, instrumentation, marine docks, tanks, etc.
  • Must possess knowledge of DOT regulations including Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Maintenance experience with LPG or LNG equipment.
  • Marine/dock experience.
  • Rail car Rack maintenance experience.
  • Pipe, Vessel and rotating equipment maintenance.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Position is subject to 24 hour, 7 days per week on call availability.
  • Capable of supervising outdoor maintenance activities in extreme weather.
  • Ability to climb storage tanks and ladders, work safely in hazardous environments and the ability to respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
