Job Summary
With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, the RN Perinatal Patient and Family Educator uses the nursing process in ways that values the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of the diversity of patients served by Jefferson Health. the RN Perinatal Patient and Family Educator is responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating childbirth plans for expecting parents and is fully collaborative with the patient, patientrsquo;s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. The RN Perinatal Patient and Family Educator demonstrates specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth. |

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred |
AND |
Experience: Minimum one year experience in maternity related nursing care. Knowledge of adult learning theory and experience with group education preferred. Strong patient and or community education background. |
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
Current RN licensure in state of employment; AHA BLS CPR. Maintains certification as indicated in one or more of the following: |
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
